About Backwoods Laser

Backwoods Laser LLC is an Iowa-based laser cutting and engraving business creating unique gifts, home décor, locally inspired pieces, and custom work for individuals and businesses.

Backwoods Laser began as something my husband, Todd, and I could build together, combining our backgrounds in fine art and commercial art with a desire to create something new. What started as a shared adventure has grown into a business I’m proud to continue today.

I love taking an idea and figuring out how to turn it into something real. Sometimes that means designing a brand-new product, sometimes it means finding a creative way to capture a little piece of Iowa, and sometimes it starts with a customer saying, “Do you think you could make...?”

I work with wood, acrylic, leather, and other materials, and offer laser engraving and marking on a variety of products. Custom work is still a big part of what I do—from engraved tumblers and business promotional items to signage, gifts, event pieces, and one-of-a-kind projects.

No matter what I'm making, my goal is the same: to create something I'm proud to put the Backwoods Laser name on.
